Sungkyun Kim is the of counsel at Mirae Law, focusing on business and commercial litigation.

 

Prior to joining Mirae Law, he worked as a litigation associate at Schmeiser Olsen and Watts, an intellectual property law firm, where he experienced various aspects of intellectual property law, such as trademark infringement and enforcement litigation, trademark prosecution, including opposition, and IP transactions. He also gained practical experience in immigration law at a law firm in Manhattan with excellent results.

Attorney Kim is a graduate of Benjamin N. Cardozo School of Law in Manhattan. During his law school years, he interned for the Honorable Gerald Lebovits of New York State Supreme Court in Manhattan for one year. While interning for the judge, he drafted more than ten judicial decisions, some of which have been published on Westlaw and Lexis Nexis. He was also an editor on the editorial board of the Cardozo Arts and Entertainment Law Journal, an honors journal at his law school.

Attorney Kim enjoys reading and classical piano music. He currently lives in New Jersey with his lovely wife and adorable toddler son.

미래에 합류하기 전, 김 변호사는 지적재산권법 로펌인 Schemiser Olsen & Watts 에서 소송 담당 소속 변호사로 근무 하면서 상표권 침해 및 집행 소송, 이의신청(opposition)을 포함한 상표권 심사, 지식재산권 관련 계약서 등 지식재산권 법률의 다양한 분야를 경험했습니다. 또한, 맨하탄의 한 로펌에서 이민법의 실무를 경험하였으며 훌륭한 성과를 보였습니다.

김 변호사는 맨하탄에 있는 유대인 학교인 Benjamin N. Cardozo 로스쿨 졸업생입니다. 로스쿨 재학 시절에는 맨해튼에 있는 뉴욕주 지방 법원의 Gerald Lebovits 판사 밑에서 약 1년간 인턴으로 일했습니다. 판사 밑에서 인턴으로 근무하는 동안 10건 이상의 판결문 초안을 작성했으며, 그 중 일부는 판사의 가벼운 편집을 거쳐 Westlaw와 Lexis Nexis에 게재되었습니다. 또한, Cardozo의 명예 저널 중 하나인 Cardozo Arts and Entertainment Law Journal 의 편집 위원회에서 Articles Editor로 일했습니다.

김 변호사는 책 읽는 것과 피아노 클래식 음악 듣는 것을 좋아합니다. 사랑스러운 아내와 아들과 함께 현재 뉴저지의 한 타운에 살고 있습니다.
