Daniel Kang is a Partner Attorney in the Chicago office of Mirae Law, LLC. His practice focuses on corporate law, employment and labor matters, complex business disputes, arbitration, litigation management, and U.S. immigration law, with particular emphasis on Korea–U.S. cross-border legal matters.

Attorney Kang was admitted to Seoul National University School of Law as a merit-based scholarship recipient, where he completed his legal education and later pursued advanced academic training in labor and employment law at the graduate level. He is a
graduate of the University of Connecticut School of Law and is a licensed U.S. attorney, giving him a strong command of both Korean and U.S. law.

Attorney Kang spent approximately twelve years with a KEPCO Group company, a major Korean government-owned enterprise, where he handled a broad range of domestic Korean and international legal matters, including labor and employment issues, regulatory compliance, and litigation and advisory management. He later served as a Legal Executive Manager stationed in the United States, overseeing complex legal matters involving both Korean and U.S. legal systems.

During his tenure as a Legal Executive Manager for the U.S. subsidiary of a KEPCO Group company, Attorney Kang managed and oversaw arbitration proceedings before the American Arbitration Association (AAA) relating to a USD 55 million EPC arbitration involving a Michigan power plant project. Working closely with outside counsel, he coordinated arbitration strategy, conducted in-depth legal analysis, and managed key decision-making and risk assessment, achieving favorable results on more than 90% of the claims asserted.
In addition to arbitration, Attorney Kang has extensive experience managing multiple litigation matters involving claims in the multi-million-dollar range in U.S. courts. His work includes coordinating with outside litigation counsel, developing overall case strategy, assessing legal risk, and advising clients on resolution and settlement strategy.

Attorney Kang also has substantial experience advising on corporate expatriate immigration and investor immigration matters. Drawing on his firsthand experience as a former corporate expatriate, he advises companies and individuals on executive and employee transfers, long-term assignment planning, and investment-based immigration, including E-2 investor visas.

He currently advises Korean large enterprises, government-affiliated entities, mid-sized companies, and privately held businesses on corporate governance and compliance, cross-border transactions, commercial agreements, litigation and arbitration management, and immigration strategy. Through his combined academic training, long-term corporate legal management experience, and U.S. legal qualification, Attorney Kang is uniquely positioned to provide clear, practical, and strategic legal advice to Korean clients operating in the United States.
